SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Under the general supervision of the MCO or DMCO, the Property Clerk will: • Control and maintain the Building Management System. • Plan, organize and control the Official Vehicle and driver resources of the mission. • Plan and supervise small to medium sized renovations, alterations, modifications, and installations at the Chancery, Official Residence and Staff Quarters, and conducts on-site inspections. • Co-ordinate the scheduling of regular maintenance services at the Chancery, Official Residence and Staff Quarters. • Contract for construction and services/IMS functions. • Act on Work Requests and Work Orders. • Update the Physical Resources Information Mission Environment (PRIME) database and Mission Maintenance Work Plan (MMW). • Other duties as required.
MANDATORY/ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Screening Candidates will initially be screened on the essential and asset qualifications below and must demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet these requirements. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Education 1. High School diploma. 2. An acceptable combination of education and training. 3. Two (2) years experience in estate or project management.
WORK EXPERIENCE • Demonstrated experience in dealing with local contractors. • Trouble shooting, scheduling and supervision of employees and contractors. KNOWLEDGE • Familiarity with technical trades and construction project management. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. • General knowledge of office practices and procedures.
ABILITIES AND SKILLS • Ability to multitask. • Ability to work under pressure and to respond to emergencies in a calm manner. • Ability to recognize priorities, manage and coordinate work accordingly. • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated sound judgement and initiative.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS • Nature of the duties of the position may necessitate that the candidate work overtime and occasionally on week-ends. • Candidate must possess a valid Driver’s Licence; must have a good driving record. • Must be available and willing to travel on short notice as required.

ASSET QUALIFICATION Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications and must clearly identify how they meet these factors in their cover letter: – Experience in Integrated Management Systems (IMS/SAP) – Familiarity with Trane BMS, IMS/SAP software – French language skills – A recognized Accreditation or Diploma in a property related field.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position is open to individuals who are currently resident in Jamaica, who hold current documentation allowing them to work in Jamaica, who meet all of the essential requirements stated above, and whose applications are received by the closing date. The High Commission of Canada in Jamaica, does not reimburse any travel costs to and from the written test and/or interview, nor does it reimburse any relocation costs. Please note any job offer is subject to the receipt of satisfactory employment and character reference and the ability to obtain and maintain a Reliability Security clearance including a criminal record check. The successful candidate must be able to accept employment within a three-week notice period. Hours of work will be 37.5 per week, worked Monday to Friday at a time to be arranged by the supervisor.
